Ana is a collaborator of a world-famous artist that no one has ever seen. She travels the world, opens exhibitions, and when she has time, watches YouTube videos of an Asian herder who would have zero followers without her. Long before she notices that one of her toes is starting to disappear, her life does not look very normal. It is not just her hard-to-describe job in the gallery world. The whole world feels realistic at first glance in Show Yourself, but we soon find out that almost no one spends their days here the way we are used to. Her brother is an influencer who has replaced relationship with romantic partnership. During her journey to find her new self, Ana ends up staying with a random acquaintance to whom people hand over their possessions to be forced to lose weight under the threat of its confiscation. Because of the missing toe, her doctor recommends a complete lifestyle change. To escape a rare disease, she will have to rethink her existing life and identity. Show Yourself is not just a specifically funny satire from today’s (art) world, but a story that many who have ever been lost in the world around them can find themselves in.
