Primetime Killer 2024

Jana Daedelow

Jana has been working in film and TV industry for more than 25 years. At Berlinale, she has worked in different programme and guest related roles, most of these years she worked at Berlinale Talents. She also lived in Buenos Aires, Argentina for several years where she worked at BAFICI and for German Film Festival. She collaborated with key European film organizations like European Film Promotion (EFP) and the European Film Academy (EFA) on several occasions. Jana also worked in the production of numerous films like THE READER by Stephen Daldry (2008) STURM by Hans-Christian Schmid (2009) MEASURING THE WORLD by Detlev Buck (2012) THE THIRD BANK OF THE RIVER by Celina Murga (2014) and as an Art Department Coordinator in films and series like KLEO (2022) (Netflix). Since 2020, she has been in her current role as the Coordinator of Berlinale Series Market where she is also a member of the selection commitee for Berlinale Series Market Selects, a label dedicated to showcasing 10-16 series with significant market potential.

Gillian Rose

Gillian Rose joined Dublin-based Soho Moon in 2024 as Executive Producer. Soho Moon produces drama and documentaries, mostly filmed in Europe, that it produces and develops with international partners. She is US-based and worked previously as a Senior Vice President in TV/Film Distribution for NBCUniversal in New York with a focus on the US market, and particularly the SVOD players. This included pre-sales and finding partners for drama coming from Europe and Australia. From 2016-2019 she held a similar role for SKY and before that was Managing Director of PBS Distribution doing mostly Acquisitions. Her career began in London as a journalist writing about television and her work in the US has included Acquisitions, Sales and Co-Productions, Development and Production.

Ms. Rose is a two-term Chair of BAFTA New York; is on the International Board of Radio Workshop, a South African-based non-profit that trains young people in radio and podcasting across Sub-Saharan Africa and is President/Founder of The Rosemary Pencil Foundation, a non-profit that supports educational initiatives and scholarships in Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Karin Fahlén

Karin Fahlén studied at Cambridge and at the Swedish Dramatic institute in Stockholm and has more than 35 years of experience in film, TV, radio, theatre, and music videos. When she took her place in the director’s chair she did so with immediate acclaim, swiftly gaining recognition for the great ease with which she moves between drama, crime, and comedy. Fahlén’s first feature film Stockholm Stories (2013), a contemporary and humorous multi-plot drama, was well-received at various film festivals around the world and gained fantastic reviews, earning Fahlén the Swedish Television´s New Filmmaker of the Year Award. Her next feature film All Inclusive became the second most seen film of the year. In 2018, Fahlén has conceptualized and directed crime series STHLM Requiem based on a series of bestselling novels by Kristina Ohlsson. Her next series was an acclaimed political and suspense driven drama Hostage.

At present Fahlén is developing three feature films, among them Childbride, a historical costume drama based on a young woman´s struggle in the royal court of Sweden.

Keri Lewis Brown

Keri has always had a passion for television across all formats and has worked in the TV and media industry her entire career. She founded K7 Media in 1998 and the company is now a leading insights and intelligence company on global TV and video trends. As the founder, she has driven the company’s growth from a breakaway startup to a leading media consultancy, providing insights to broadcasters, production companies and distributors across the world. Before founding K7 Media, Keri was the Head of International Sales for production company Action Time, where she led the rapid expansion of international format sales, making her one of the first to explore the potential of global programming. She is a principal expert in international television and digital entertainment trends, including global drama series, and is regularly invited to speak at world-class television and media events to share her thoughts on the industry.

Joël Bassaget

French, writes scripts for TV since 1989, lives in Berlin and is a bigtime shortform aficionado. Founded in 2001 the very first (and shortlived) European portal for Flash animated indie cartoons. In 2014, he founded the blog “Web Series Mag” for the online version of French newspaper Liberation. The following year, he founded of the Web Series World Cup. Author of “Le guide des Webséries – la nouvelle vague” and co-author with Meredith Burkholder of “Short Narrative & Serialized, a complete guide of the web series phenomenon”. He is currently script doctor, freelance consultant in shortform production and distribution strategies and partner researcher at University of Wollongong („Valuing web series“).
