Runnning time: 2 x 45 min |
Fares, the Swedish actor of Lebanese descent known from the Department Q series of mystery films, stars in the passion project created by the musician and director Amir Chamdin. The mystery thriller Partisan won the first place at Canesseries. This time, Fares plays an enigmatic character knows as Johnny, who drives two orphaned teenagers to a remote farm. There are foster parents waiting for them and an unspecified job for the chauffeur. The miniseries and its distinctly hypnotic visuals are reminiscent of 1970s-era films in terms of the atmosphere and pacing. The dreamlike tone casts doubt on the reality of all the disturbing signals the audience can notice in this strange location cut off from civilisation. At the same time, the series uncompromisingly dispenses clues to figure out what is going on this strange nightmare.
