Origin and Year: Israel, 2022 | Director: Eitan Zur |
Runnning time: 2 x 40 min |
Amir is a brilliant teacher but he is currently going through a tense period in his life after his divorce. When he gets into a dispute with the headstrong student Lian during a debate about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, he stops paying attention for a few moments. He crosses a line beyond which escalation inevitably occurs, setting off a series of events that completely transforms both his and Lian’s lives. Starring Doron Ben-David, known from Fauda, and the great Maya Landsman, the series deservedly won this year’s Canneseries. It stuns with its thought-provoking, perfectly crafted script about politics and manipulation, the performances of the actors and a documentary-like direction typical for Israeli series. It confirms that Israeli titles are among those that inspire the whole world.
