A Strange Summer (Outo kesä)

Origin and Year: Finland, 2022 Director: Lauri-Matti Parppei
Runnning time: 4 x 16 min

Twenty-one-year-old Minna lives in her hometown and her life is nothing special. But now her friend Aino, who has been hitchhiking in Asia for two years, returns after two years. While Minna is more of an introvert, you can see the adventurous Aino everywhere. Together they want to have the best summer ever. Especially since now neither of the girls knows what to do with their lives. The strange atmosphere of the bridging summer soon begins to subtly change when the girls find a new dangerous distraction – sneaking into strangers’ houses together. What is to blame on the tendency to self-destruct and the crisis of young adulthood, and what can you still call fun?
