In the noughties when the screen lit up green with the now-legendary jingle and Jen Barber became the new employee of the basement-based IT department, it was the moment when the noughties delivered one of its greatest comedy gems. At the time, creator Graham Linehan made good use of the humorousness of the divide between those who were just getting used to work online in the noughties and the knowledgeable IT experts. And also the fascination with nerds and geeks, who were suddenly more visible thanks to the internet humour of the noughties seeping through to the general public. Chris O’Dowd, Richard Ayoade, and Katherine Parkinson showed acting back then that they could not replicate anymore, even though each of them went on to an interesting career.
