Can you still be as miserable even after learning you no longer have cancer? The story of the twenty-six-year-old loser Alice (Carla Sehn, known from Love & Anarchy), who must return home from London with no boyfriend, no job, and no idea what to do with herself, shows you can. This millennial’s search for herself in the Stockholm suburbs is an uncompromising comedic assessment of one effort to disappear from her native one-horse town to somewhere a little cooler. It features a gallery of original characters with real, everyday problems, funny moments alternate with more serious ones. Thanks to the screenwriter’s personal experience with cervical cancer, this low-key comedy drama about a family having to deal with the possibility of things going wrong with Alice gets to the very core of things.
