When Noel Fielding and Julian Barrett came together in a show that first established itself on small pub stages and later at The Fringe Festival in Scotland, something extraordinary happened, even by the standards of the crazy British comedy. These two shared an interest not only in comedy, but also in music and the tendencies to propel ideas into absurd surreal antics with the cuteness of two little boys who like weird things. The theatre performance and radio show eventually became a TV series for BBC 3, for which the two musically and artistically talented comedians also created the set design. The first season of Mighty Boosh is set in a zoo, the second in a flat and the third in a second hand shop. In all three locations, Fielding and Barrett, as Vince Noir and Howard Moon, bombard us with ideas ranging from the simplest gags to trippy sequences, some of which have already become popular thanks to the fan base. Both comedians are also well known for their later roles and collaborations, Fielding from IT Crowd and Barrett from Flowers by Will Sharpe, a member of the younger generation of brilliant British comedians.
