Arne is a freelance writer (DDV) and director (ARF/FDS) who was shortlisted for the German Screenplay Award in 2017 and 2020. He was nominated for the Grimme Award (German Emmy Award) in 2017. Arne is an alumnus of Berlinale Talents, Torino Film Lab, as well as MIDPOINT Series Launch.
From 2011 to 2018, he headed the Script Station – the story development lab of Berlinale Talents. From 2014 to 2018, he also served as Head of Development at 42film in Halle/Saale. As an associate producer, he was involved in Ága (by Milko Lazarov, closing film of the Berlinale Competition 2018) and Lemonade (by Ioana Uricaru, Berlinale Panorama 2018), among others. 2023 his debut novel Ostkind – Child of the East was published.
Currently, two feature films which he co-wrote are in post-production (Don’t Let the Sun Catch You Crying by Jacqueline Zünd, Mother’s Baby by Johanna Moder), as well as the Swiss-Albanian short format series Te Berberi – Wächst Ja Wieder, where he acted as head writer.
Arne was born in Wolgast (GDR) and studied i.a. film directing at FAMU in Prague.
