Frederik Delaplace
CEO of VRT , Belgium

Frederik Delaplace was appointed as CEO of the Flemish public broadcaster VRT in 2020. He graduated in applied economics and journalism at the Catholic University of Leuven in the nineties to start his career at the financial daily De Tijd as a journalist writing about financial markets and banks, where he gradually climbed up the ladder to become editor-in-chief in 2006. Later he became the head of Mediafin, the publishing company behind the titles such as De Tijd daily and the Francophone business newspaper L’Echo. The way Frederik Delaplace led the digitalisation of these two papers was one of the factors the Flemish government was very impressed by during the selection process of the new VRT’s chief executive officer.
