After graduating from university (Faculty of Arts, Palacký University in Olomouc, Theory of Culture), Kateřina joined Czech Television, where she worked until 2005, first as a script editor and then as a producer. She participated in television series in the genres of music, entertainment, fiction, and documentary. In 1995 she won the award of the Film and Television Association Pierot for her production work.
After leaving Czech Television, Kateřina briefly worked in the field of PR in culture, was a project manager in the project Ostrava 2015 – candidate for the European Capital of Culture, a member of the Council of the Fund for the Support and Development of Czech Cinema and also a representative of the Czech national delegate in the Eurimage Fund.
She returned to Czech Television in 2012 as an Executive Producer with her own team at Czech Television studio in Ostrava. She is a member of the Czech Film and Television Academy. Since 2020, she has been leading a workshop at the Master’s Degree in Production at FAMU.
Kateřina is the winner of the Czech Lion for the miniseries Actor (Best TV film or miniseries), Justice (Best TV film or miniseries) and the comedy series Dubbing Street (Best dramatic TV series), and her projects have won other awards (Golden Icicle, Prix CIRCOM Regional Award). The projects she has co-produced have been screened at the Cannes IFF (L´ACID section), Karlovy Vary IFF, Art Film Fest Trenčianske Teplice, Festival du cinéma européen en Essonne, Prix CIRCOM Regional, IDFA Amsterdam, Hot Docs Toronto, IFF Moscow and others.
