Viktor Tauš

An acclaimed Czech producer and director, laureate of the Progressive Killer Award for a prominent television personality of Central and Eastern Europe in 2020. After graduating from the Secondary Technical School of Communication Technology in Prague, Viktor started to study at The Documentary Film Department at FAMU (Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague), but had to leave his studies due to his addiction. He made his first feature film Kanárek in which he also took the role of an actor in 1999, about what led him to drugs and how he got out of it again. However, despite positive reviews, his feature debut failed commercially, and he got addicted again. Subsequently, he underwent treatment and directed commercials and music videos for several years. At the same time, he founded his own production company Heaven’s gate and participated as a producer, among other things, in Jan Hřebejk’s Garden Store trilogy. He directed the successful comedy Sněženky a machři po 25 letech and the critically acclaimed drama Clownwise but also the detective miniseries Blue Shadows and Monsters of the Shore for the Czech Television, most recently in 2020 the miniseries Rats.
