Riding the Beat is a drama-comedy set in the hip-hop scene of a rough Finnish neighbourhood called Savela. 17-year-old Arttu is desperate to hit it big and make his washed-up rapper dad proud. 16-year-old Minea on the other hand wants to be accepted as a serious artist in the mostly male rap scene. Together the two navigate the hip-hop scene in the midst of great change, as old power structures are fracturing, and new voices are being heard.
