Jan Vejnar

Jan is a writer-director based in Prague, Czech Republic. His short Figurant was selected for competition sections at numerous international festivals including SXSW 2020. 

With Tomáš Pavlíček, Jan wrote and directed the dark comedy She Came at Night which premiered at the 57th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) and received three Czech Film Critics Awards and two Czech Lion Awards including Best Director and Best Film. 

Among other projects, he is currently developing a hospital comedy-drama Head Nurse which received the KVIFF & MIDPOINT Development Award in 2021.
