In 2023, Johnathan set up May One with Ioanina Pavel, based in Bucuresti. May One is a boutique drama company focusing on developing and producing premium drama series from Central Europe that aims to connect with the local audience, but that can also travel.

 Their first show, Subteran, a 6×1-hour Gangster/Thriller series, went out on Netflix in January.

Johnathan started as a drama director before becoming a producer. He produced more than 1000 hours of television in the United Kingdom, including the BAFTA-nominated The Sinking Of The Laconia, a co-production with Teamworx from Germany. Working with Teamworx was an eye-opener to the fantastic possibilities of collaboration and the excitement in exploring fresh perspectives. In 2014, Johnathan was delighted to be offered the opportunity to join HBO Europe as VP Original Production, overseeing drama development and production across the region.

– 2 seasons of Wataha (both Polish Eagle award winners), 2 seasons of Pakt and 2 seasons of The Thaw from Poland

Johnathan has an ongoing interest and commitment to working in Central Europe. He is especially keen to bring new voices and fresh stories to both a local and international audience in a popular and accessible form.
