1980’, the Cold War battle shifted to the sports arena, where hundreds of athletes endured intense mental and physical pressure to prove the supremacy of the Socialist bloc. One of the sports developed by the USSR for this competition is rhythmic gymnastics, but unexpectedly, a Bulgarian coach forms a team that becomes an absolute world champion constantly taking medals from the Soviet gymnasts. The three Bulgarian athletes and their coach live in a sadomasochistic relationship between constant separations, reconciliations, forgiveness and tears. Their victories threaten to create political discord between the USSR and its most loyal satellite, Bulgaria.
