International Drama Executive, VRT , Belgium

Elly is the international drama executive of VRT, the Flemish public broadcaster in Belgium. VRT’s ambition is to make high-quality drama with international appeal and potential. Elly took up the responsibility to find international financing partners and to set up international co-productions. Her role is to build an international network, introduce VRT as a strong drama partner and to share her expertise within the company in order to create a sustainable drama strategy that reinforces the local ecosystem. She is also a coordinator of EBU Drama; an initiative that helps European Public Broadcasters network, co-produce and access world-class drama.

She worked in the news department for 12 years. Later, she was a commissioning editor for news, reality and fiction. Elly commissioned titles such as Professor T and Beau Séjour, Arcadia, and This is Not a Murder Mystery, among others.
